Texas HALO Fund, LLC is an investment company and fund series specializing in investments in early-stage businesses with promising growth prospects and exceptional management teams. Our investment approach identifies compelling businesses from multiple sources without regard to industry or geographic location. Quite simply, we seek the best opportunities, locally, regionally and nationally, in order to generate the highest returns for our investors with the lowest possible risk. Each Fund invests in multiple companies in a variety of industries in order to construct a diversified portfolio. Our process involves rigorous due diligence and extensive interaction with management prior to making a capital commitment and then active on-going oversight often through board positions or board observation rights.
Texas HALO Fund was created to give investors access to the high returns of early-stage investments while addressing the unique challenges that confront investors attempting to create a portfolio on their own, such as lack of quality deal flow, insufficient due diligence and inadequate capital to spread among the 20+ investments needed for a diversified portfolio.
Our Funds solve these problems by building a portfolio of twenty to twenty-five companies across multiple sectors. Investments are heavily screened by the Fund’s Managing Directors, who bring sector specific expertise, carefully curated deal flow and years of early stage investing experience to the table.
We invest in convertible debt and preferred stock. We do not invest in LLCs, SAFE notes, real estate or oil and gas drilling ventures.
Each Fund is managed by a separate group of Managing Directors but often the Managing Directors are involved with more than one Fund.
Texas HALO Fund has raised four Funds and has some $25 million in assets under management. Funds I, II, III and IV are now closed to new investors. These funds have invested in some sixty early-stage businesses. Funds I, II and III are currently making selective follow-on investments in their portfolio companies, while Fund IV will continue to make both first-time and follow-on investments.
Texas HALO Fund is based in Houston and open to all accredited investors nationally. The Fund is not industry specific and invests across multiple industry sectors sourced from opportunities across North America, creating a highly diversified portfolio for investors.
